• How do I sign up?
If you are a goalie and looking to join the MyPuck Goalie Rental team the first thing to do is send us an email to Patrick at patrickherman@mypuck.com. You must be of at least legal drinking age in your home province or state since you will be playing in men's league games where alcohol might be present. You should also have some kind of playing background, we can't take on goalies who just picked up the position. We will then send you a list of questions to be filled out and sent back in. The MyPuck Goalie Rental staff will determine the best fit from there.
• Does it cost anything to sign up?
There is no cost to sign up with MyPuck Goalie Rental.
• How do I make money?
While not all of our goalies are in it to make some extra money, the truth is most are. There are a few variables to consider but generally you can expect to make $25 to $35 per game net.
• Does MyPuck Goalie Rental make money?
Yes we do. We take a cut of every game that you play. Our job is to promote you and get you games to play. We work behind the scenes to help get you on the ice. Much like an agent would do we take a cut of the action to provide you with our services.
• How many games will I play?
This all depends. MyPuck Goalie Rental never guarantees games. We are a need-based service. When a team needs us we fill their request. You might be very busy one week and have no games for the next couple of weeks. But as before, it's our job to work hard to promote you and make sure that when a team needs a goalie they call us because they are looking for you.
• Can I still play for my regular team(s)?
Of course you can! Just make sure we know your schedule. If you have a regular Monday night team then at least we know that's not an available time for you to play games for us. And no, we don't pay you for those games.
• What if I play a game for MyPuck Goalie Rental and a player on that team asks me to play for his other team?
When you play for MyPuck Goalie Rental you are an ambassor for MyPuck Goalie Rental. Part of your job is to let other's know about us. The more they know to call us the more games you can expect to play, the more money you can make. You are contracted out by us and we expect you to act the same way you would with your 9 to 5 job. • What if I play a game for MyPuck Goalie Rental and that team asks to contact me directly for the next time they need me so I can keep the full rate?
Refer to the question above. Cherry-picking teams is frowned upon. Once we find out that you've done this you will be removed from the MyPuck Goalie Rental team. Let's keep things in perspective - if you cherry-pick a team, how many games will you get from them? Is it worth losing out on all the games with us to get a couple more with them? As stated before, we work hard to promote you and get you as many games as possible. Anytime you're at a rink you're promoting MyPuck Goalie Rental.
